If you happen to hear the number one UK Singles Chart, James Blunt' s "You're beautiful", you'll find the song tells a story about a very short scene happened to a bloke which last about few minutes but the effect on him may last forever. A man was stricken by a beautiful angel who smiled on him when they walked in a subway. In UK, a subway is an underground path used by people to cross a busy road or traffic junction. In London occationally subways are connected to an entrance of an underground train station, or we call it tube station. In some other countries, subways mean underground trains. It's a bit confusing but you're not supposed to mix between two when you're in London 'cause I've told you so!

The song is a simple one. One thing that I found interesting is the hopeless feeling of this bloke because he can only enjoy the moment without any further future knowing that the angel was with a man, presumably her boyfriend or husband. I could imagine a contrary story might happen if you see a hollywood movie when a man will after a girl with whom he has a crush on, no matter she is single or not. But I prefer the story in the song, it's more real for me and makes me understand that sometimes moral values of this western country are not very different from my south eastern country, Indonesia. But of course, in my culture, you'll find that it is not polite to stare at a girl without blinking, and the girl will either also smile because the man looks foolish in his unconsciousness or, in contrast, feel offended.
